I haven’t Got Time To Exercise

by admin on May 2, 2010

The most common excuse I get from my clients that are not exercising on a regular basis is “I just haven’t got the time to work out at home never mind finding the time to go to the gym”.

I question the validity of that statement, yes I know life is busy these days and between finding time for work, family commitments and trying to fit in some leisure time it can be challenging to squeeze in just a little bit more.

But I think if you took the time to actually keep a diary and honestly fill it in with all your daily activities I think you’d be surprised at how much spare time you can actually find.  For example how many hours a day of television you watch?  Typically people can watch as much as four hours of television every day.  Even if you’re one of the rare people who doesn’t watch that much television I’ll bet it adds up to its least 15 hours a week.

Now I’m not suggesting you spend the whole 15 hours working out!  You’d be worn out in a couple of weeks but if you could spare 30 minutes three times a week which equates to just  1 1/2 hours you could begin to make a real difference to your fitness levels.

I know you may have seen in the past that you need to be exercising for at least an hour three to four times a week and that might have frightened you.  You baulk of the idea of having to find four hours plus a week extra to exercise effectively.

Now in a perfect world that would be ideal but as we know it isn’t a perfect world so compromises sometimes have to be made.  It’s better to do some exercise rather than none at all and the problem is as long as we use the excuse I can’t find that sort of time then you’re doomed to doing nothing at all.

Who knows once you start to get the benefits that regular exercising can bring you may want to find a little bit more time to accelerate your fitness and fat loss goals.

That’s where a Personal Trainer can help. By helping you to make your workouts more efficient you can do more in a shorter period of time.
